I’m Zarak Mushtaq — known to students as Sir Zarak — an Economics tutor in Karachi with over 15 years’ experience. Since 2009 I have taught A Level Economics (CAIE 9708 and Edexcel) and O Level Economics (CAIE 2281) to ambitious students in Karachi and online across Pakistan, guiding hundreds of them from confusion to confidence and to A and A* grades.
My approach is concept-first: understand the logic behind markets, governments, and global trade, and the rest follows. Once the concepts are clear, essays, diagrams, and data-response answers become straightforward — and strong grades follow for students across 14 countries.
I teach with patience and structure, whether in person in Karachi or through live online classes. Every topic is broken into clear steps — definition, diagram, analysis, evaluation, and application to unseen scenarios — exactly what CAIE and Edexcel examiners reward.

I am based at Alpha College, 38-C P.E.C.H.S Block 6, Karachi, Pakistan, where I work with students face-to-face and online. Over the years I have built a reputation for explaining difficult ideas — elasticity, market failure, exchange rates, fiscal policy — in plain language that still satisfies the mark scheme.
Thousands of students have passed through my classes, from first-time O Level learners to A2 candidates sitting Paper 3 and Paper 4.
